Three Easy Tips For Creating Lasting Friendships
Have you ever had a friend that you knew would be a bestie forever? It may be that you have a common interest or your personalities click really well. I have lots of greats friends and ones who I consider very close friends! Friends I am blessed to have in my life! Here are some things below I think have given us such a close bond and created a forever friendship.
Similar Experiences
Sometimes friendships just come easy. Others develop over time and take work. What can make a friendship quickly grow, is being able to relate to a similar life experience. Knowing that you might have had the same loss or past hurt can help you get through it faster and offer support to each other. You definitely learn from everything you go through, and having a friend who can relate, makes all the difference!
Honesty
A true friend is honest with you, even when the truth can hurt. The kind of friends who may not tell you at times what you want to hear, but what you need to hear. Friends who are truthful! They don’t sugar-coat the situation. It’s good to be honest as well, as it solidifies your loyalty to them. I once was told, you shouldn’t take advice from someone who you wouldn’t trade places with. Iron sharpens iron! Good friends will make you better!
Creating lasting memories together
Certainly having friends with similar interests is helpful. For example, you can attend movies and concerts you both like. Taking trips together can take your relationship to a whole new level. They say you don’t really know someone until you’ve traveled with them! That’s true in all relationships. Climbing the steps to the Eiffel Tower, snorkeling the Caribbean seas, or zip-lining across the jungle can bring your friendships to a new height, no pun intended.
These are just a few of the easy ways to build lasting friendships, and I’m sure I could go on. What’s important to maintain these relationships once created are to reach out, be available, listen, and don’t sweat the small stuff. 🥰
